PRIVATE GUARD COMPANIES ACT

The Private Guard Companies Act of 1986 is the main law that regulates private security companies in Nigeria, requiring them to be licensed and monitored by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The NSCDC acts as the licensing authority, handling applications, supervision, and inspections of private guard companies. The Act also includes the Private Guard Companies Regulations of 2018, which updated some of the original provisions and are being considered for further review as the industry evolves
